Terms and Conditions – Rome Luxury Cars

Rome Luxury Cars is the trading brand under which romeluxurycars.com offers luxury and sports car rental, chauffeur-driven hire, wedding car hire and airport delivery in and around Rome. These Terms apply to all bookings made through the website, by email, by phone or by WhatsApp. By sending an enquiry or confirming a booking, you accept these Terms in full. The website does not take instant, binding reservations. A visitor submits the enquiry form with name, email, optional phone number, the car of interest if already chosen, pick-up and drop-off dates and a free-text message, or contacts us directly by email, phone or WhatsApp. Our team reviews availability and replies with a written quote setting out the car, dates, price and conditions for that specific rental.

A booking only becomes binding once we confirm it in writing, by email or through the same channel used for the enquiry, after the client has accepted the quote. Until that written confirmation is issued, no rental is guaranteed, even if a specific car was discussed.

Published day rates on the website start from €400 and are indicative; the price that applies to your rental is the one stated in the written quote, which takes into account the car chosen, dates, mileage allowance, delivery location and any chauffeur or wedding-hire service requested.

Unless the quote says otherwise, the price includes use of the vehicle for the agreed period, the mileage allowance described below and the insurance cover stated in the quote. Fuel, extra kilometres, tolls, fines, out-of-hours delivery and any additional driver are charged separately where applicable and will be itemised in the quote or invoiced after the rental.

Bookings are not paid online through the website. Payment terms, including any advance payment required to hold the car, are agreed in writing at the time of confirmation and set out in the quote.

At handover, a refundable security deposit of between €5,000 and €20,000, depending on the car, is held on a credit card in the main driver's name. The deposit is released within 21 days after the car is returned, once we have checked for outstanding fines, tolls or damage. Amounts corresponding to any damage, missing fuel, excess mileage, fines or tolls notified after return will be deducted from the deposit or invoiced separately.

Because EU consumer law treats car rental for a specific date as a leisure service, the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts does not apply once a booking is confirmed; this follows from Article 16(l) of Directive 2011/83/EU and, under Italian law, from Article 59 of the Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005). In place of that statutory right, we apply the following voluntary cancellation policy to every booking.

Cancellation is free of charge up to 72 hours before the scheduled pick-up time. Cancellations made within 72 hours of pick-up are charged at 50% of the total booking value. If the client does not show up at the agreed time and place without cancelling, no refund is due. Requests to change dates, the car or the pick-up location are handled on a best-effort basis and may be treated as a cancellation and new booking if they cannot be accommodated.

We may need to cancel or amend a confirmed booking where weather conditions, a safety concern, a technical fault affecting the booked car, or another circumstance beyond our reasonable control, including force majeure, makes the rental impossible or unsafe to carry out as planned. Where feasible, we will offer an equivalent replacement car or alternative dates.

Where no suitable alternative is accepted by the client, any sums already paid for the affected rental will be refunded in full. We will not be liable for any further loss, including travel, accommodation or other arrangements made in connection with the rental.

The main driver must be at least 21 years old with at least two years' driving experience; supercars require a minimum age of 25 and three years' licence. A valid driving licence, a passport or identity document and a credit card in the main driver's name are required at handover, and an International Driving Permit may be requested for licences issued outside the EU.

Handover and return take place at the time and location agreed in the booking confirmation, typically a hotel in Prati or EUR, or Fiumicino or Ciampino airport. Deliveries in central Rome are planned from the outset around the city's ZTL restricted-traffic-zone rules, so the agreed handover point already accounts for any permit restriction and clients do not face access problems at the point of collection. The car is inspected jointly with the client at both handover and return, and any damage or discrepancy is recorded at that time.

Multi-day rentals include 300 km per day; kilometres driven beyond this allowance are charged at the rate stated in the quote. The car must be returned with the same fuel level recorded at handover; any shortfall is charged at the cost of fuel plus a refuelling service fee.

Traffic fines, tolls and parking charges incurred during the rental period are the renter's responsibility. Where such charges are notified to us after the car has been returned, we pass them on to the renter together with an administrative fee, and they may be deducted from the security deposit.

Insurance cover is included as described in the written quote for each booking. In the event of at-fault damage during the rental, the renter is liable for the insurance excess applicable to that car, which will be charged against the security deposit or invoiced separately if it exceeds the deposit held.

Driving abroad, on a track or off-road requires our prior written approval and is not covered otherwise. Smoking and travelling with pets are not permitted in any of our cars. Any use of the car outside the agreed terms, including unapproved track or off-road use, voids the applicable insurance cover for the resulting damage and makes the renter fully liable for it.

Our liability in connection with a booking is limited to the price paid for the affected rental, except for damage caused by our wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or liability that cannot be limited under Italian law. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as missed flights, events or other arrangements affected by a change to the booking.

Any complaint about a booking, a car or the service provided should be sent to [email protected] with the booking reference and relevant details; we will review it and respond as promptly as possible.

The content of romeluxurycars.com, including text, photographs and the description of the fleet, is provided for information about our service and may not be copied or reused without our written consent. We may correct website content, including prices and car availability, at any time, and the applicable terms for a specific booking are those confirmed in writing at the time of booking.

These Terms and any booking made under them are governed by Italian law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved directly will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent Italian courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rules that may entitle a consumer to bring proceedings before the courts of their own place of residence.

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in our service or in the law. The version published on romeluxurycars.com at the time an enquiry is sent applies to that enquiry and to any booking resulting from it; changes made afterwards do not affect a booking already confirmed in writing.
